Religious Education

We are pleased to offer religious education classes from kindergarten thru 12th grade.  Our program is under the guidance of the Archdiocese of Seattle.  The curriculum is the Faith First Legacy Edition program, which is based on three-parts, Doctrine, Scripture, and the Liturgical Year.  Our team of Catechists is composed of passionate volunteers of the parish who ensure that our youth are taught the sacred traditions, scriptures, and liturgical observations of our Catholic faith.  We have a full 26-week program which runs from September through May.  All classes are held on Wednesdays in the parish hall.  The class schedule is as follows:

Kindergarten through Grade 5    4:00 – 5:15pm
Middle School & High School   6:30 - 7:45pm

Special Sacrament Class

This class is for children from grades 3 to 5 who have not received the Sacrament of Communion.  The class prepares students to receive two sacraments:  Reconciliation and Communion.  It is also held on Wednesdays, right after the regular religious education class.  Special sacrament students are required to attend both regular religious education and special sacrament classes throughout the school year.

Confirmation Class

This class is offered every year and is composed of 12th grade students enrolled in the religious education program.  Classes are held on Sunday evenings for an hour and a half.  Students will receive the sacrament in May of the current school year.

How to Register

A family must be registered with the Parish in order to enroll their children in the program.  Registration forms are available in the parish office during the week and in the church vestibule after mass.  For more information, please call Rowena Harliss at (360)675-2303x25, or email at  rowena@staugustineoh.org
